The head of the Sokoto screening process, Prof. Mu’azu Shamaki, spoke to the students and said that the legislator would support 100 of the qualified applicants to study medicine and other relevant fields in India.
Shamaki described the gesture as a clear attempt to raise the standard of professionalism and education in the state and added that all of the applicants were from the seven Local Government Areas of the Sokoto East Senatorial District.
He noted that the action was a step in the direction of ensuring that the next generation would have a more promising and fruitful future.
Lamido emphasises its efforts on giving young people a better future by offering them access to programs for agriculture, business skills development, and education, among other things.
“The senator has given funds and business working tools to youth and women for productive engagement in the district and supported over 2,000 students studying at various tertiary institutions across the nation,” Shamaki stated.
During the screening process, he urged participating students to maintain decorum and discipline and to accept the results in good faith.
He urged people who couldn’t make it through to have patience because the legislator will be providing more chances.
Prior to the major screening process, the candidates were required to submit their original credentials and identity from their local government areas of origin, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
