The Oyo State Post Primary School Teaching Service Commission has revealed the results of the computer-based tests for the recruitment of teachers into secondary schools in the state, indicating that around 9,000 candidates passed.
This was reported by the Commission’s Chairman, Akinade Alamu, in a statement made accessible to journalists on Tuesday, August 6, in Ibadan, the state capital.
Alamu stated in the statement that the commission had established 50% as the minimum cut-off figure for advancement to the next round of the recruitment process.
The chairman stated that the 9,000 candidates will go through interview sessions within one week beginning August 14, 2024, and that the interview panels, led by both serving and former Permanent Secretaries, would be divided into ten groups of five members each.
He also recommended all candidates to log into the commission’s portal to access their results, which were already posted there.
Alamu reaffirmed the commission’s commitment to improving educational services in the state, saying the interview for applicants in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Geography would take place on August 14, 2024.
The commission stated that English, Physics, Health Education, Technical Drawing, Music, and French candidates would be interviewed on August 15, 2024.
Additionally, it indicated that Basic Science, Home Economics, and Computer Science candidates would be interviewed on August 16, 2024.
It stated that interviews for Commerce, Christian Religious Studies, Islamic Religious Studies, Literature in English, and Guidance and Counselling candidates would take place on August 19, 2024.
Additionally, the commission stated that Social Studies, Business Studies, and Food and Nutrition applicants would be interviewed on August 20, 2024.
It stated that candidates for Economics, Government, Finance and Accounting, Fine Arts, and History would be interviewed on August 21, 2024.
The commission also fixed August 22, 2024, to interview candidates of Agricultural Science, Yoruba, and Arabic. The chairman urged all candidates to come with their credentials, local government of origin, date of birth certificate, and other relevant documents and wished them the best in the interview.
