Afeez Adedigba, a driver in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, who gained notoriety for driving a popular micra taxi while donning his wife’s attire, has given an explanation for his actions.
The main reason, according to Adedigba, who was shown wearing his spouse’s dress in a viral video, was that the rain soaked his clothes, and the fabric was the only quick repair he had.
The driver stated in a Monday interview with media personality Ayo Adams that he told his wife he intended to use the fabric in his car when he took it, and she gave her permission.
“I have other clothes from my wife except this one. They are roughly two years old. When I originally picked up the dress, it was pouring rain and I was completely soaked through. Since I still wanted to work that day, I had no choice but to accept hers.
I now put on mine when it stops raining and wear the dress when it does. It is always in my car because of this.
Adedigba said that he was unaffected by the remarks made by the passengers about seeing him wearing the outfit because he was solely focused on completing his task, which was to bring significant cash home and give it to the car’s owner.
“I’ve been driving this Micra for a very long time. And at work, all I ask for is God’s favour. When I was unable to secure capital to launch the tyre business that I had learnt about at a young age, I turned to driving’, he remarked.
The driver denied rumours that he had fought and that his clothing were ripped, which is why he was wearing garments that belonged to his wife.
He also mentioned that he only had one wife and four kids, and that’s why he worked so hard to provide for them.
