On Sunday in Minna, Niger status, three former military rulers and a few other generals convened behind closed doors to discuss what many regarded the nation’s status.
General Abdulsalami Abubakar, Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, the former military president, and former President Olusegun Obasanjo made up the triumvirate.
General Aliyu Gusau, a former National Security Adviser (NSA), was also present at the meeting held at Babangida’s hillside home.
Before Obasanjo finally came, it was said that the three had been waiting for him at the IBB estate for a considerable amount of time.
Though the meeting’s specifics were unknown, rumours circulated that it had to do with the nation’s security state and the PDP’s reluctance to sign a peace accord before the Edo governorship election.
After the meeting, which was reported to have lasted for almost two hours, former President Obasanjo left for Abuja.
Obasanjo was thought to have been chattered when he arrived at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Airport at approximately 4.30 p.m. and left in the same aircraft at approximately 6.30 p.m.
A few protocol officers from the Niger State Government House met him at the airport.
Around 7 o’clock at night, the same protocol personnel said goodbye to him, and the Niger State government also supplied the cars that drove him to the Uphill and back to the airport.
