During the Live KTV interview with Evia, we got to know she was the right person for the job to make a difference in our society.
Who is Evia?
Evia is a proud unionist, feminist, political, and social activist. Born in Uganda refugee camp with deep South Sudanese roots. Evia holds a qualification in nursing and is currently studying for a Bachelor of Arts. Over the last couple of years, Evia has worked both in private and public hospitals, eventually settling down in the aged care industry. A proud UWU unionist, former Delegate and Aged care union organiser. Evia has has been there fighting for workers to be respected, recognised and decently paid. Most of all she is active in the community through volunteering, mentoring, and leading young girls. Currently, Evia works as an Electorate officer, a role she thoroughly enjoys and uses to engage and actively help locals. Evia is also currently the president of Kingsway branch, committee member of multicultural Labor Organisation. 2023 WA Multicultural mental health ambassador for mental health foundation Australia. In addition to this, Evia is also currently the 2023 WA Africa Communities finalist for the Emerging leaders award and finally, the 2023 City of Swan candidate for the upcoming October council election.
She is enthusiastic about advocating for communities to be heard.
