It has been made clear by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority that Arik Air’s flight operations have not been stopped or paused. The airline’s capacity to operate its remaining fleet is unchanged, and flights continue as planned.
This explanation was given in a statement on Friday in Abuja, which was signed by Mr. Michael Achimugu, the NCAA Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection.
As per Achimugu’s assertion, the NCAA has an obligation to adhere to the court order that attaches Arik Air’s aircraft (5NMJF, 5NMJQ, and 5NBKX) after the Supreme Court’s decision, guaranteeing adherence to safety and regulatory standards. The three Arik Air planes that were grounded as a result of a court order or attachment are mentioned by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority.
It is crucial to make clear that, contrary to what some have suggested, this action does not involve the NCAA or the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development suspending Arik Air’s whole activities.
The statement read, “We value the public’s patience and understanding as Arik Air resolves this issue with the least amount of disruption.”
