Simon Ekpa, Prime Minister of the Biafra Republic Government In-Exile, has warned that the United States may confiscate additional Nigerian assets in light of the issue surrounding a French court’s decision for a Chinese corporation to seize three Nigerian presidential jets.
Ekpa claimed to have communicated with US officials about confiscating President Tinubu’s and other corrupt Nigerian leaders’ assets.
Taking to X, he said that if Tinubu’s government continues to demand his extradition from Finland, he will consult with US officials to seize other assets, causing significant international disgrace.
Meanwhile, the Chinese corporation engaged in the French court dispute has handed over one of the three presidential jets to President Tinubu.
This development raises concerns about the possibility of additional asset seizures and diplomatic problems between Nigeria and other nations.
Ekpa responded in a post on his X microblogging account (previously Twitter) on Friday, saying that there is a possibility that the US will seize further Nigerian assets.
He claimed to have “personally spoken with U.S. officials regarding the subject of seizing President Tinubu’s assets, and that of corrupt Nigerian officials” .
According to him, if President Bola Tinubu and his government do not cease seeking the Finnish government to extradite him to Nigeria, he will “consult with our “friends” in Washington, DC about having more of Mr. Tinubu’s assets seized, and he will be subject to further international embarrassment”.
