To improve security in the Niger Delta, the Nigerian Navy has been looking for reliable intelligence.
In order to maintain a safe and tranquil atmosphere, the maritime security organisation specifically requests that intelligence be shared between the host towns and the Naval Base.
During an educational outreach in Ugborodo and adjourning communities in Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State, the Nigerian Navy Forward Operating Base, Escravos, Commanding Officer, Navy Captain Olayinka Aliu, made the appeal over the weekend.
According to him, the goal of the educational outreach was to instill in the kids a strong work ethic, decent behaviour, and a distaste for any kind of criminal activity that would endanger their future.
Following a medical rhapsody that was recently conducted at a naval base in the Ugborodo general area, Navy Captain Aliu stated that the educational rhapsody was “part of the non-kinectic component of ‘Operation Delta Sanity 111’, aimed at utilising soft approach to win hearts and minds of the locals in the fight against COT.”
“We determined that in addition to the medical intervention, we should also provide educational outreach to the communities of Ugborodo, where we currently reside. In the end, we are providing them with arithmetic sets and exercise books to aid them in their scholastic endeavours’, he remarked.
The Naval Boss told the students that no matter what career path they select, the sky was the limit and he advised them to be diligent and committed to their studies.
In order to increase security in and around the host communities and guarantee an atmosphere that is favourable for business to flourish in the region, he asked the leadership for collaboration and reliable intelligence.
The outreach was attended by the monarch of the Ugborodo kingdom, HRH The Galaxy, the Eharaja of the Ugborodo kingdom, as well as leaders from the many host towns. It culminated with refreshments, music, and words of wisdom from the attendees.
