Tracey Cave, BA/DipEd (Majoring in Linguistics), Grad Cert Educational Management The founder and CEO of Sister Project a not-for-profit organization established in 2019 to support, connect and help empower at-risk migrant and refugee women living in Perth.
As well as travelling extensively, Tracey has taught for over 25 years, both as a Primary school teacher and also as a teacher of English as an Additional Language in NSW, WA and Japan.
She has lived experience of being a migrant and understands the frustrations, vulnerability and depth of emotions that come from not being able to communicate with those around you on a daily basis.
Previously married to a West African man for 20 years, Tracey also has firsthand experience of the challenges and difficulties faced by people when they move to Australia without recognized qualifications, Australian work experience or a support network. Raising 4 kids, and now a grandchild, in an African-Australian home, Tracey understands, respects and has regular experience of the value and role cultural communities have on the family unit and individual.
Tracey now uses her skills and lived experiences to serve and be a bridge between at-risk migrant and refugee women and the wider Australian community.
Tracy was live at KoollifeTV Studio with Victoria Mayuen where she spoke about herself, her vision, mission and journey of life.
