WA has recorded zero new cases of COVID-19 on the first day of lockdown in Perth and Peel.
Mark McGowan said it was “encouraging news, but we have a long way to go” after 14,771 tests were carried out yesterday.
Of the 209 close contacts of the three community cases, 109 have returned negative test results so far.
A further 1828 casual contacts have been identified, of which 275 have tested negative.
More than two million people in Perth and Peel have been ordered to stay at home until at least 12.01am on Saturday, July 3.
